Wi-fi wireless networking enables notebook and laptop users to access the Internet easily from wi-fi hotspots. Wi-fi hotspots are basically places which include a wireless link, from which a person with the correct hardware can link to, and use network resources such as the Internet. They are found across many airports, train stations and even Internet cafes. All the user will need is a wi-fi card, which is basically the same as normal access card and a username and password. Some networks may require special wi-fi cards, which they provide. For a modest cost, most service providers provide customers with a username and password and access instructions, so they can log on the network and start using the service immediately.
