A secure home wireless network will keep hackers at bay and viruses out, and ensure a smooth operational network. Wireless networks are more vulnerable to outside intrusions compared to wired networks, simply because they broadcast their signals across a wider spectrum. An outside intruder can access the network and intercept emails and sensitive data or use an Internet connection. An unsecured network can allow hackers to delete sensitive data or steal important information such as stored credit card numbers and passwords. Viruses can cause destruction of data or use the victims computer as a base to launch attacks on other computers connected to the network or Internet. All of these points signify the importance of a secure wireless network.
