Home Network: How wireless networking works

How wireless networking works

Wireless networking works by a series of wireless devices propogating radio or microwave signals through the airwaves to transmit and receive data. A wireless router is much like a conventional router, except it uses an antenna or a series of antennas to send and receive radio signals. A wireless access device is used by computer users to communicate with the router and the network. All wireless devices including routers have more error correction compared to normal wired networks, because of the distotions that can be caused to the signal by obstructions and interference from other signals. Signals are transmitted in analogue form and are prone to errors. The router or wireless access device converts the signal to digital when it recieves it, so it is understandable by the device or computer. It converts digital signals to analogue for transmission.
